Steve Silversides
Director of Operations
Steve spent 21 years working in education, assisting students with finding the best fitting schools, and helping to ensure they could make the most of the opportunities before them. He hopes to do the same for current and future members of Seacoast Pickleball.
Steve's introduction to pickleball came through his wife, Lani, when she began playing a few years ago. While he only recently began playing himself, Steve is looking forward to improving his game with the help of the supportive Seacoast Pickleball community. He appreciates the generosity of spirit that is on display daily and looks forward to meeting and playing with both returning and new members.

Michele’s love of all things pickleball moved her from a 30-year career in mortgage banking to doing what she loves. Who could ask for a better job, to think of ideas for people to have fun? From the somber/solitary life of mortgages to a day packed with meeting and greeting friends, old and new. Funny how searching for an indoor venue for me and my friends to play pickleball, led me to meet Harry and his wonderful team.
Michele is so happy to be a part of this winning group! She lives in York with her husband Jon and 3 golden retrievers.

Marcia had a lot of things she wanted to do when she retired and learning to play Pickleball was at the top of that list. She says it was the best decision she ever made. It’s where she met Michele and her countless other Pickleball buddies. Marcia went from a 35-year career in Tech at Liberty Mutual, sitting behind a desk, to the fun and rewarding job of helping Seacoast Pickleball Members have FUN, play a great game, and meet other amazing people.
Marcia enjoys playing Pickleball (of course), spending time with her children, grandchild, walking, hiking, paddleboarding, traveling, new adventures, and … Happy Hour with friends.
Marcia was born and raised in Burlington, MA but spent every summer in York Beach. She raised her family in York and continues to reside here.

For over 30 years Laurie ran her own small business. After retiring 4 years ago the idea of a part time job was in her mind but would have to be something special for her to give up her precious time.
Fast forward 2 years. She dropped into a church and played her first game of pickleball. From there, she visited Seacoast Pickleball and was so impressed by the facility, staff, and members that she decided to join.
When the opportunity was served up to work at Seacoast Pickleball she jumped at the chance and decided to take a swing at it! So here she is at Seacoast Pickleball doing her dream retirement job! Like the country song says “do what you love and call it work”.
Laurie is certified to instruct both total resistance exercise (TRX) and indoor cycling. Her other interests include home decorating, yoga and a little bit of travel.
Laurie lives in Wells with her husband.

Jake Jacobsen

At 10-years old, Jake wondered out loud (to his brother) whether it was possible to make a living in skiing. Twenty years later (after some years in self-employment), Jake began a 26-year career in ski area management at Gunstock Mountain Resort and Attitash Mountain Resort, running ski schools, a mountain bike program, and eventually, all the revenue centers at the resort. He left the ski industry in 2016 to become a student at the Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design and then spent 7-years as a Wooden Boat Building Instructor at the school.
Now, Jake and his wife, Eileen have discovered Pickleball, and more importantly, Seacoast Pickleball, where they have discovered a community of active people enjoying the sport together.
Outside of Pickle, Jake can be found on a bike, hiking, skiing (lift served, backcountry, & XC), in the wood shop, or spending time with Eileen, the 5 kids, our grandson, Henrik, and two dogs, Moe & Sherbie.
